Singapore Shock
A new track, under lights, with the safety car likely and thunderstorms forecast: a favourite might win, but backing them in these conditions at the usual odds makes little appeal. Instead I’m going look to two drivers who I believe have the ability (and form) to capitalise. Continue reading…
Hamilton’s Revenge
Heavy showers are predicted for both Qualifying and the race, therefore I’ll be siding with the near 2/1 available on BetFair about a Lewis Hamilton win. His race-craft in damp conditions is impeccable, and with the McLaren looking a better car than the Ferrari in cool temperatures and a wet track, I think the price is more than fair. Is Lewis Light on Fuel?
An interesting thread sprung up on the Planet-F1 forum last week (thanks Grasshopper) about the effect of carrying extra fuel on lap times. Obviously with Spa being such a long fast circuit, the impact is fairly substantial. Continue reading…

Low ambient and track temperatures should have favoured the McLaren, but the Ferrari showed its historical strength at this circuit, with Massa and Raikkonen leading the way and the McLaren’s around 6/10ths off the pace. Market-wise, it’s all going to form then – insofar as the main culprits are concerned at least – and with only a 20% chance of rain predicted for Quali and none predicted for the race itself, I’m inclined to look elsewhere. Continue reading…
Sebastian at Spa
Just a quick post to say that I very much agree with the reasoning in the last few paragraphs of Tom Millard’s preview.
Vettel looks on super form and his confidence is high. The extra horsepower from the Ferrari unit will certainly be an advantage at Spa, whilst Vettel’s performances in Asia at the end of last season underline his ability in the wet. Continue reading…
