Fastest Lap: Buy The Field!

leave a comment »

Sporting Index has an interesting approach to the Fastest Lap market. Rather than produce a quote for every driver, they price up the main protagonists [in their opinion] and then group the remaining thirteen drivers as ‘the field’. Continue reading…

Massa to take victory in Monaco

leave a comment »

Let’s start with a caveat. I am not going to place this bet until as close to the start of the race as possible and only then, when I have convinced myself that it will be a completely dry grand prix. That is not to say that Massa can’t win the race in the wet (around a track that until today he hated, without traction-control…) but inclement weather would negate the reasons why I am wagering on him. Early Price Alert: Monaco

leave a comment »

Not too much detail at this stage, but a couple of prices that I think are worth taking in advance of the Monaco race weekend are:

Lewis Hamilton Race Winner @ 16/5 (4.20) with BWin
Lewis Hamilton to beat Felipe Massa @ 6/5 (2.20) with BWin

One to Watch: Kazuki Nakajima

with 3 comments

Kazuki Nakajima has been quietly getting on with his job at Williams and in particular has been putting in some strong race performances. In the opening four races he has scored a points finish twice and has a net gain of race finishing position over starting grid position of a massive nineteen places! That is more than anyone else lining up at Istanbul this weekend. All of this got me to looking at Extrabet’s standout 9/1 price for him to record a top eight finish. Continue reading…

Backing Massa in Turkey

with one comment

After highlighting a trend at the last race of the pole-sitter going on to take victory and then not taking advantage because of a prohibitively short price, I am reluctant to make the same mistake again.

With his predicted main rival Kimi Raikkonen starting from fourth place on the dirty side of the grid and the much-publicised two wins from two poles around here, Massa certainly looks well placed to take victory. Continue reading…

Fastest Lap upset in Turkey

Everyone is predicting a Ferrari red-wash this weekend, but I think that one place where they are worth opposing is in the Fastest Lap market. Continue reading…

Turkish Grand Prix Data Sheet

pdf-icon.jpg Unfortunately I don’t think that this data sheet will be as useful as it is some weekends, as Formula One cars have only raced at the Istanbul circuit three times previously. Some interesting 2008 season trends are starting to form though.
