Red Bull: H2H Qualifying
Bet24 look to be responsible for the pricing-error of the day.
Qualifying Head-to-Head:
1.70 Mark Webber
2.00 David Coulthard
Webber admittedly had problems with car setup yesterday:
“I’ve been struggling all day in the car. We’ve got work to do this evening; we just need to get our heads down now and see where we can improve before the qualifying tomorrow.” – Mark Webber
However this morning’s results from Practice Session 3 would appear to suggest that they were successful with the Aussie posting a top ten time; more than a tenth up on his teammate.
Webber is renowned for his single lap pace and no one can be more aware of that than his teammate. In the eleven races so far this season, he has out-qualified DC on a mightily impressive ten occasions. The only aberration was at the Spanish Grand Prix where he was blighted by transmission problems all weekend.
This track doesn’t seem to offer any explanation for the price. In 2005 Webber was just 15 thousands of a second slower than then teammate Nick Heidfeld in the Williams, whilst DC was comfortably outpaced by Christian Klien. Last year – as teammates – DC failed to make it out of Q1 whilst Webber went on to secure a top-ten grid slot.
Other bookmakers that have priced up this market have Webber at around a 2/5 (1.40) shot. Bet24 have made an error.
Thanks to Costanza for pointing this out to me.
